Looking good scalps
Scalp Tattoo also known as scalp micro-pigmentation is essentially a hairline tattoo, is a non-surgical treatment used to treat hair loss for both male and female. It is an incredible life-changing treatment that is suitable for different stages of hair loss on all ages, colours and skin types giving realistic and natural looking results
WHAT IS SCALP MICRO PIGMENTATION (SMP)?
Scalp Micro Pigmentation is an advanced cosmetic tattoo, done to treat baldness, alopecia and scars on both men and women, giving the illusion of freshly shaven follicles and added density to areas on the scalp where regrowth is not prominent.
WHAT DOES SMP INVOLVE?
Your first visit will be a detailed consultation and a patch test, where we would discuss hairline, measurement and different styles. as a general rule 2-3 treatments will be required, the initial treatment will be carried out on your second visit, to create the hairline shape and then implant pigment over the entire scalp, the second treatment will be repeated 7 - 10 days later to add colour to balance the density in the area, the third treatment will be around 4 weeks after the second treatment to ensure that the scalp is healed properly and looking perfect.
HOW LONG WILL THE SCALP TATTOO LAST?
Scalp pigmentation is semi-permanent and will begin to fade slightly over time. The clients skin type, age and lifestyle does play an important role on how quickly they fade. It can last between 3- 10 years with annual touch-ups recommended to maintain the scalp.
IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION THE SAME AS A TATTOO?
No. SMP can be referred to as a medical tattoo but the treatment is performed using a completely different technique to regular tattoos. The treatment is performed by our highly skilled SMP trained practitioner using specialist pigments created for the scalp only, not tattoo ink. The needles and equipment we use are also different to those used for regular tattoos.
IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?
Everyone has a different threshold of pain, however, some client may feel a little uncomfortable with a sensation similar to light scratching; some say it was not as bad as they were expecting, however as time progresses, the client will get used to the feeling. We do not recommend the use of self-prescribed painkillers either as they can cause bleeding in the area. The area worked on may be slightly red after the treatment; however this will subside in a few hours.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Treatments start from £500 to £3000. Please contact us to arrange a free consultation where we can discuss your situation and provide you with the best possible solution.
